UMMO Estudio is a Spanish architecture practice that in 2012 renovated the Cuevas del Pino, a country house in a cave: located in the scenic Sierra Morena, Spain, the Cuevas was built into the rock, merged with a natural structure traditionally used for farming and livestock. The 100sq. meters house is designed to value and enhance the nature of the area. The added architectural elements (walls, floors, furniture) give to the cave a domestic and cozy atmosphere. The bright and wide interiors together with the pre-existing stone walls give warmth and a sense of armony. A beautiful renovation that triggers the trivial idea of interior and natural materials.
