LOOP_Snarkitecture

Snarkitecture is a New York-based collaborative practice established to investigate the boundaries between art and architecture. The name is drawn from Lewis Carroll’s The Hunting of The Snark, a poem describing the “impossible voyage of an improbable crew to find an inconceivable creature.” In its search for the unknown, Snarkitecture creates architectural-scale projects, installations, and objects.

Their latest collaboration with fashion brand COS is an installation piece that hangs suspended from the ceiling of the Gana Art Gallery in Seoul, South Korea. Named Loop, this intricate lilac marble run twists through an all white space. Utilising precision engineering, this pendulous sculpture is brought to life by white glass marbles. Every five minutes a marble travels along each of the four tracks, its journey ends only when it passes through to the next room—landing in an ocean of all of the marbles that have fallen before.
