MAXXI TEMPORARY SCHOOL

“MAXXI Temporary School: The museum is a school. A school is a Battleground”, is the installation made by studio Parasite 2.0 that won YAP MAXXI 2016, the sixth edition of the Italian promotion and support program for young architecture organized by MAXXI in collaboration with MoMA / MoMA PS1 in NY, Constructo of Santiago, Istanbul Modern (Turkey) and MMCA National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Seoul (Korea). The project will be the backdrop for museum summer events and for its visitors, but it’s also a reflection on the disappearance of the boundary between the space and its representation. MAXXI Temporary School has chosen for its ability to transform the open space of the museum through a series of installations / backdrop movable and accessible, highly rated to interact with the life of the MAXXI and the YAP related events. The project is placed at the boundaries between architecture, set design, art and performance, a playful and friendly composition that fit to the museum building.
