URBAN ESCAPE

The photographer David de Rueda documented the past eras in a real hunt for ghosts. Urban Escape is a trip through the United States, looking for the forgotten places of the Western giant.

“From New York to San Francisco, live a journey through abandoned America. What does a cooling tower look like from above? How do you climb New York’s bridges? How does a city decay? Where are America’s nuclear missile silos hidden? These are the questions that we decided to answer on a three-month road trip through the United States. Far from museum crowds, we went to visit abandoned power plants, hotels, prisons, churches and construction sites and asked American adventurers about their most well-kept urban jungle secrets.”
