CHIHO AOSHIMA

Chiho Aoshima is a Japanese artist artist who creates her unique and extraordinary world with the help of Adobe Illustrator. Her works are shown as enlarged prints (her largest illustration measures 32.5 meters in length and 4.8 meters in height). She displays her own art pieces not only into papers but also into leather or plastic surfaces or canvas bag too, giving them a sense of transcendence of both art and merchandising. She is also one of the earliest members of Takashi Murakami’s Kaikai Kiki artist collective, her illustrations belongs to the Superflat aesthetic movement. Aoshima’s work are inspired by the evolution of human civilization, where modernity and nature difficultly coexist. To the question: “where do you get the inspiration?”, she replies: “I represent these two souls that cannot understand each other through the images of buildings and mountains, I represent my idea of future.”
