HOTEL HUBERTUS

NOA* – Network of Architecture is an architecture practice based in Bolzano, Italy, founded by Arch. Stefan Rier & Arch. Lukas Rungger.

One of their latest project was Hotel Hubertus’ renovation and enlargment: the site is located in Valdaora, at the foot of the famous ski and hiking area Kronplatz in the Puster Valley at an altitude of about 1350 m. The new 25 m long pool, functioning as a connector between old and new, underlines the essence of this comprehensive renovation and renewal project. With its 12m height above the ground, the pool is located between the two accommodation wings of the hotel and it’s made in anthracite-colored stone, blending with its surroundings. On the bottom of the pool a glazed window allows swimmers to have a unique view of the ground below. The facade is made alternating native larch tree trunks connecting “old and new”.
