LINEHOUSE for WEWORK

Linehouse is an architecture practice established in 2013 by Briar Hickling and Alex Mok. Combined, they have over 25 years working experience in China, Asia and abroad, a rich cultural heritage and an understanding of cultural values from the West, the Pacific and Asia.

One of their recent project is a renovation of a former opium factory for the co-working company WeWork. Located in Shanghai’s Jing’An district, the 5,500 square-metre WeWork Weihai hosts more than 1,300 co-workers. Shanghai studio Linehouse decided to provide a light atmosphere with green-painted metalwork and pastel-coloured furniture and interiors. The lighting system is the element that characterizes the central area, soft coloured cables from both sides connect creating geometric textures above the co-workers.
