Royal College of Art graduate Jakub Pollág has developed the ‘Personal Tattoo Machine’–“a quality tool that is safe and comfortable to use”–that lets individuals create their own body art in the comfort of their homes.
“Personal Tattoo Machine democratizes the tattoo industry… It puts a tool used only by a limited group of people into the hands of enthusiasts, who are seeking an alternative and unique way to permanently mark their meaningful memories onto their skin,” Pollág explained on Dezeen. Targeted at novices, the machine operates at a slower speed and comes without the different thickness options found in professional tattoo machines. The device runs on a nine-volt battery and comes with instructions, rubber gloves, an ink cup and antiseptic lotion.
