POLLUTED WATER POPSICLES

Art students Hung I-chen, Guo Yi-hui, and Cheng Yu-ti from the National Taiwan University of the Arts designed “Polluted Water Popsicles” a project made with the polluted water that they collected from 100 locations in Taiwan. The project is intended to spread awareness about water pollution and its effects on our world’s population.

At first glance, the products and their aesthetically pleasant packaging give a sense of tasty food, however, once you get closer you can identify the trash contained within each mold – pieces of plastic, bottle caps, muddy waters… The different colors are the result of various pollutants. “Polluted Water Popsicles” was nominated for the Young Pin Design Award and featured in the New Generation of Design Exhibition this May at the Taipei World Trade Center.
