Chinese product design firm Mario Tsai Studio, previously on WeVux, explore the potential attributes of materials and new production methods while adhering to sustainable design principles. One example is their latest furniture invention, the ‘Pull Table’.

The project is a free and personal interpretation of the verb “pull”. In this case, the keyword is tension. Using the toughness of 5mm thin plywood, the hardness of the steel rod and the flexibility of the belt, the elements form a stable structure. The Table encourages users to experience the bending crafts that should be a part of the production process. At the same time, the installation process of letting the three materials pull each other feels like a game.
