For the Cornell University’s College of Architecture, Art and Planning, Hong Kong architecture office CL3 and design studio Lim + Lu – both alumni of the college – developed a twelve-piece furniture collection based on the pushcarts’ qualities, quite common in New York state.
The design inspired by pushcarts allows the flexibility and the portability of the furniture: they are used on a daily basis and with this inspired qualities their configuration can be changed every hour, in line with the events planned in the space. They can be used not only in a horizontal way but also in a vertical one, the sofa may become a coat rack, while during presentations and talks the library may be used as a podium for the speakers. An interesting collection that gives a different look to everyday furniture and allows the users to customize the space in which they are.
