SOVIET MODERNISM IN GEORGIA_R. Conte, S. Perego

Italian photographers Roberto Conte (born in 1980 and based in Monza) and Stefano Perego (born in 1984 and based in Milan), worked together between 2015 and 2016 to collect a series of images representing the soviet heritage in Georgian architecture. The collection depicts iconic buildings, monuments and urban spaces all over the country; concrete and heavy lines are the main ingredients of this homage to Soviet architecture. The collection shows also the importance of the figurative representation, for example through the typical memorials of the “great patriotic war”.
