TERRA COTTA #2

Terra Cotta #2.2 is an ongoing philosophical research by Talia Mukmel , a project that tries to combine material and cultural motives from ancient civilization with modern industrial processing methods.

In 2011 she was inspired by old civilizations and she designed a new series of bowls, made by sand, flour and threads. Now she adds a modern aspect to the creation process: instead of using threads to create the unique pattern, she designed metal grids. In both projects the designer uses different mixtures of sand and flour, the mixture swells up in the “baking process” to a unique pattern so that every bowl is different from the others. The project will be on view during Milan Design Week 2016 at Ventura Lambrate.
