“TERRE EMERSE” CALL by Keep Life

Keep Life is a composite material with a wooden nature, designed and patented by Pietro Petrillo in 2017. The following year, designer Ilaria Spagnuolo joined the project. Malleable and self-hardening, KL is generated using the shells of hazelnuts, chestnuts, walnuts, almonds, pistachios and peanuts, with the addition of a binder free of harmful substances, fillers and fillers, solvents and formaldehyde.

At the recent Dutch Design Week 2021, the eponymous brand presented its latest novelty: 4 new colors in tribute to Campania region are: Vesuvius black, Fiano white, Tuff yellow, Red Pompeian. Therefore, on the occasion of Milan Design Week 2022, Keep Life launches the call “Terre Emerse”, with which everyone is asked to play with new colors and present their project and, if selected, become part of the new KL product catalog.

To participare there is just one rule to start: develop a project from a “shape 0” 20x20x10. Then section the original shape into two halves (10x20x10 cm each) and, in the design phase, paint them choosing 2 of the new (or the classic) colors.
