Based in Toronto, Cradle is a collaborative team of designers that consists of Nicholas Koppelaar, Jessye Grundlingh and Andrew Kroetsch.

The team behind Cradle created a minimal bench using a raw-cut tree slab and a white steel frame. The project’s name ‘Bench_01‘ stems from the fact that the first piece cut from a maple leaf tree, labelled B_01, was originally used as the base of the bench. Through this piece, the studio is exploring how to repurpose and recycle materials in design.
