Inspireli Awards, the largest student competition in the world, has announced the winners of Edu-Project Croatia / Miris Garden: an educational project that has given students the chance to influence the face of a major architectural development on the Croatian coast. 240 students from 38 countries entered the competition and together they created a total of 163 projects. The over 800 Inspireli jurors chose the 30 finalists then the final jury selected the winners of 6 different categories. These were related to certain areas of future development near the city of Starigrad – Miris Garden. The winning projects will serve as initial ideas for the final design of the buildings in the Croatian locality.

The winning students from Czech Republic, Slovakia and Kosovo created their ideas with great respect for the local landscape and nature, integrating leisure spaces with businesses, hotels and residences. One of the main prizes of the competition was a five-day workshop on 3D visualizations in the Architecture Department of the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague. For 2024, Inspireli’s Edu-Project competition will be the reconstruction of Schindler’s Ark in the Holocaust Survivors’ Museum and the sustainable living area at the factory where Oscar Schindler saved 1200 Jews during WWII. Inspireli also announced the finalists of the 8th Inspireli Awards, with a total of 1,031 projects examined by the international jury – 950 architects and designers – 44 best projects from 21 countries were selected. The Architecture category has 30 finalists while the Urban design and Interior design categories have 7 finalists each. The 2nd round of voting took place in the first two weeks of August and the winners will be announced on 23 September 2023 during the ceremony – also broadcast in streaming – at the Czech Technical University.
